Mrs. Belmont grew up in Wilmington, Massachusetts. She attended Westfield State University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Art with a double major in Social Work and Psychology. She went on to obtain her master’s degree in Social Work from Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development,Mrs. Belmont has spent the majority of her career working in various aspects of the medical social work field. This has included adults with traumatic brain injuries and other neurodegenerative diseases, emergency medicine, obesity medicine, and maternal mental health. She has dedicated the last fifteen years to working with children and their families in a Boston pediatric hospital program. In addition, Mrs. Belmont has worked closely within the field of adoption in both the private and public sectors and is certified by C.A.S.E in adoption competency.
Mrs. Belmont’s experience includes individual and group work in mental health acuity screening, psychiatric placement for acute treatment, end of life care, chronic medical coping, acute medical coping, maternal mental health, infertility, adoption/transracial adoption, disordered eating, parent coaching, and evaluation and coordination with the child welfare, legal and criminal systems.
