Hjalmar Zambrana Bonaparte, Psy.D.



Forensic Neuropsychologist

Dr. Hjalmar Zambrana Bonaparte is a bilingual (Spanish-English) clinical neuropsychologist who earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Albizu University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Marshall School of Medicine, where he served underserved patients with an emphasis on rural communities. Subsequently, he completed his postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology, emphasizing cross-cultural neuropsychology and neuropsychological assessment of Spanish speakers, and was a member of the Roger W. Sperry Neuropsychology Lab at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Currently, Dr. Zambrana Bonaparte is a forensic neuropsychologist at Boston Neuropsychological Services and a staff neuropsychologist at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), Cambridge Hospital, and has a faculty appointment as an Instructor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Zambrana Bonaparte’s clinical interests are in multicultural neuropsychological evaluation, neuropsychological evaluation of Spanish speakers, traumatic brain injury, intellectual disability, and differential diagnoses of dementias. He has authored and co-authored Spanish and English chapters in books and scientific articles on the practice of clinical neuropsychology for Spanish speakers.
