Shana Turowitz, LICSW



Counselor/Intake Specialist

Mrs. Turowitz grew up in Montreal, Canada. She attended Concordia University in Montreal where she earned a Bachelor’s in Applied Social Science. Shortly thereafter, she went on to obtain her Bachelor and Master’s of Social Work from McGill University, also in Montreal. Upon obtaining her MSW, Mrs. Turowitz moved to the Boston area where her career began, working in Early Intervention, providing counseling and clinical assessments to young children.

Following her work experience with Early Intervention, Mrs. Turowitz moved onto a Clinical Director role working with children, adolescents and families. Her most recent position was as the Clinical Director at a Boston area therapeutic middle/high school for adolescents ages 12-22. For over 20 years, Mrs. Turowitz has provided therapy for clients with a range of needs such as Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Brief and Chronic Psychotic disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury, specialized learning/communication needs, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and other trauma-based clinical needs.

Mrs. Turowitz’s experience in both the public and private sector includes individual, group and family therapy, case management, liaison work with outside agencies, advocating for clients within the education system and clinical assessments for individual education plans.

Mrs. Turowitz’s therapeutic approach is one that begins with a supportive and compassionate approach of meeting the client where they are at. She works creatively and collaboratively with sensitivity and integrity to provide strengths-based, goal oriented counseling. Her non judgmental approach is well received by clients of all ages who present with a range of diverse clinical needs. She has an honest and trustworthy approach to connecting with her clients.
